Amrutabhanda Besara/ Raw papaya curry with mustard paste

A quick & healthy recipe


We all know that papaya is a super food having lots of health benefits.Both ripe & raw papaya holds a number of amazing health benefits.Raw papaya is packed with vitamins,enzymes & phytonutrients. it is also a rich source of magnesium,potassium,vitamin A,B,C&E.Below i am going to share some important health benefits of eating papaya on our regular diet.

Today I am going to share with you a simple and easy recipe which taste great with rice & also you can have this with chapati .


Preparation Time: 10~15 min

Cooking Time: 10 ~15 min.

Total time: 20 ~ 30 min.


Ingredients

  • Raw papaya - 1/2 medium~large

  • Potato - 2 medium

  • Yellow mustard seed - 1.5 tbsp

  • Green chilli - 2

  • Garlic - 2 large

  • Cumin seed - 1/2 tsp

  • Urad dal vadi - 6~7

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil for cooking - 1.5 tbsp

Procedure

Step 1

Cut papaya & potato in to cubes .Wash properly,Papaya cubes should be slightly smaller than potato.

Step 2

Dry grind mustard seed


Add green chilli & garlic & make a paste by adding some water .


Step 3

Slightly crush urad dal vadi.


Step 4

In a pressure cooker heat oil on low to medium flame .

Step 5

Add cumin seed & let it crackle .

Step 6

Add crushed vadi & saute till golden

Step 7

Now add cubed papaya & potato .Mix well.


Step 8

Add mustard paste & mix well.Add salt to taste.


Step 9

Add aprox 3/4~1 cup of water & mix well. Do not add too much of water.

Step 10

Cover the lid & pressure cook it . 1 whistle on high flame & another 1 whistle on medium flame . Remove the lid when the cooker release the pressure.

Now Amrutabhanda besara is ready to be served . Garnish it with some corriender leaf .

(Note - If you are using black mustard seed then after making paste strain it with the help of a strainer for good color.)
