A quick and delicious one-pot meal
In todays busy schedule nobody get more time to cook,but we always need delicious food. In this situation one pot meals are great option for busy week day meal or it can be a great option for a lazy day meal or else you can call it as an ideal recipe for bachelors.This chicken khichdi is aromatic,healthy,delicious & quick to make one pot meal.

Chicken-350- 400 gm
Rice -1 cup
Moong dal- 1/2 cup
Onion-1 large chopped
Tomato-1 large chopped
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Red chilli powder-1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Green cardamom- 3
Cinnamon stick-1 inch
Cumin seed- 1/2 tsp
Hing (asafoetida)- 1 pinch
Ginger garlic crushed/paste -1 tbsp or 1 tsp from each
Garam masala powder-1 tsp
oil for cooking-2 tbsp
Ghee to add at the time of serving
Dry roast the moong dal .Wash rice and moong dal properly.
Heat pressure cooker and add oil.Add When oil become hot add all whole garam masala and hing.
Add cumin seed and chopped onion and fry. No need to make the onion brown.
Add ginger garlic crushed/paste & fry ,let the raw smell go away
Add green chili & chopped tomato.
Add turmeric powder,red chili powder,corrinder powder,garam masala powder and sal to taste.Cook for few minute and let the tomato become soft.
Add washed chicken and cook for 5 minute on medium flame. Here i have used leg piece,you can use any type of piece as per your choice.
Add washed rice and dal and mix well.
Add 2.5-3 cups of water and pressure cook it up to 1 whisle on high flame and cook for another 7-8 minute on low flame and switch off the flame.
Let the cooker release the pressure and then open the lid.Chicken khichdi is ready now.
Add some ghee on top and mix well.Serve hot.
