Dalma Masala
A flavorful masala which makes the dalma more delicious

Dalma is a traditional dish of Odisha. It is a combination of dal ( generally prepared with toor dal ormoong dal ) & some vegitables like raw papaya,brinjal,raw papaya,potato etc.
It is easy to prepare & at the same time full of vitamins & nutrients.For seasoning dalma we generally add roasted dry red chilli & cumin seed powder. Today I am going to share a masala for seasoning the dalma to make it more delicious.
Ingredients
Cumin seed -3 tbsp
Black pepper - 1 tbsp
Bay leaf -7~8
Dry red chilli -7~8
Cinnamon stick - 5 (1 inch)
Fenugreek seed -1/2 tsp
Fennel seed - 1tsp

Procedure
Step 1
Dry roast bay leaf & dry red chilli. Make sure not to burn the red chilli

Step 2
Dry roast cinnamon stick & black pepper

Step 3
Dry roast fennel seed,cumin seed & fenugreek seed.

Step 4
Now mix all & make a fine powder by using a blender.


Now Dalma masala is ready. You can store it in a airtight container and use it .
