Muga chakuli/Moong dal chilla
A healthy & nutritious breakfast recipe

Chillas are very much popular in North India . In most of the North Indian household besan chilla is a most common breakfast recipe ,or as a quick evening snacks . Moong dal chilla is just a variation of besan chilla. In eastern region of India ,specially in Odisha it is known as muga chakuli .You can have this as it is or with some green chutney. Taste great when serve with some chutney.
Preparation time: 3 hr (including soaking time)
Cooking Time: 15~20 min
Total time: Aprox 3 hr 20 min
Ingredients
Moong dal/green gram - 200 grm
Onion finely choped - 1 medium
Grated ginger - 1/2 tsp
Corriender leaf choped - 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
Green chilli if required
Hing/Asafoetida - 1 pinch
Salt to taste
Oil for cooking
Procedure
Step 1
Wash & soak moong dal for 3 hour .

Step 2
With the help of a blender make a fine paste of it & keep it in a bowl .



Step 3
Add all ingredient & mix well

Add some water to make it a flowing consistancy .

Step 4
Heat the tawa & brush few drops of oil

Step 5
Spread a ladel full of batter on it & give it a round shape. Cook it on medium flame .

Drizzle few drops of oil on top & edges of the chilla .

After few minute color will change slightly . Then flip it & cook the other side .

Now chilla is cooked from both the side .

In this way prepare all moong dal chilla & serve hot .
