Pakoda Curry

A easy to prepare curry from gram flour pakoda


Pakoda curry is generally preapre from gram flour pakoda .Pakodas are dipped in onion tomato gravy.This curry can be the best solution when we are running out of veggies.Generally at the end of a week in most of our family we are running out of vegitables & this curry can be a great solution for that.

Preparation Time: 15 min

Cooking Time: 20 min.

Total time: 35 min.


Ingredients

  • Boiled potato-3

  • Onion chopped -1 big(1/2 we will add in pakoda &1/2 for curry)

  • Tomato - 1 medium

  • Garlic clove- 3 big

  • Ginger-1/2 inch

  • Cumin seed -1/4 tsp

  • Turmeric powder

  • Red chilli powder as per taste

  • Salt to taste

  • Cumin powder- 1/4 tsp

  • Curry powder - 1/2 tsp

  • Garam masala powder- 1/4 tsp

  • Soda-1 pinch

  • Oil for cooking

Procedure

Step 1

Boil the potato & remove the skin

Step 2

For making pakoda ,in a bowl take 1 cup gram flour,3 piece of potato,half of chopped onion,1/4 tsp cumin powder,1pinch of turmeric powder,salt ,baking soda.Mashed the potato properly & by adding some water make a thick batter. I f you want you can also add some chopped green chilli to the pakoda.


Step 3

To fry the pakoda in a kadai heat some oil.

Step 4

For making pakoda ,apply some water in you hand ,take a small portion of the batter and give it a tikki kind of shape & drop it in to the oil.


Fry them till nice golden brown colour on low to medium flame.


Step 5

For making the masala in a blender take tomato,garlic &ginger and make a paste


Step 6

For making the curry ,remove the oil and keep only 1.5 tbsp of oil in the kadai.Add cumin seed & let it crackle.

Step 7

Add another half of chopped onion and fry till it become slightly golden in colour.

Step 8

Now add tomato puree,turmeric powder red chill powder,curry powder& garam masala powder.Cook it on medium flame till the raw smell go away and oil separates


Step 9

Add enough water, remaining dieced potato & salt. keep the flame high and allow it to boil.

Step 10

Now add the pakoda to the gravy.Cook it on medium flame for 2 ~3 minute. Cover the lid and switch of the flame.Keep it for 10 ~ 15 minute so tahat the pakoda can soak some water and it will be soft.

After 15 minute you can see the pakoda soaked the water and the gravy become slightly thick.

Now pakoda curry is ready to be served,you can garnish it with some choppped corriender leave.This will give a nice flavor to the curry.I do not have, so I can not able to add.
