Suji Kakara/Semolina fritter
A most loved dish of Odisha

Suji Kakara is a traditional sweet dish of Odisha, which is usualy prepared during any kind of festival. It can be prepared with or without stuffing . When we prepare with stuffing inside it is known as manda & without stuffing is known as kakara .Today Iaqm going to share with you the simple & delicious traditional food of Odisha .
Preparation Time: 15 min
Cooking Time: 30 min
Total time: 45 min
Ingredients
Semolina/suji - 1.5 cup
Water - 3~4 cup
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Fennel seed - 1/2 tsp
Oil for deep fry
Procedure
Step 1
Boil water in a kadai by adding sugar,salt & fennel seed .

Step 2
When sugar disolve & water start boiling , keep the flame low & gradualy add semolina. Continiously mix it so that there should be no lumps .

Step 3
Mix it continiously till it becom like a dough .Switch off the flame & let the mixture cool down for 10~15 min.

Step 4
Aftet 15 minute apply some oil on your palm & make a smooth ball by taking a small portion of the mixture .

Flatten it by pressing with your other hand & give a smooth round shape . N need to make too much thin .

In this way prepare all mixture .

Step 5
Now it's time to deep fry the prepared mixture . Heat some oil in a kadai .

When oil is hot enough deep fry the kakara on low to medium flame till golden brown .
